the deviceserver configurator is the powernet client package that allows configuration
of powernet devices through a deviceserver. systems can be configured while communicating or offline for downloading
at a later time. offline configurations require downloading at a later time. if using a laptop, configuration requires
an ethernet port or a serial connection.
the configurator allows the user to define the device parameters to be polled and the polling rates for each parameter
producing optimal, customized results. three polling speeds can be set to a one-second resolution. device status
can be polled at higher polling speeds than analog data to ensure critical status changes such as trips are always
recorded.
the deviceserver takes advantage of the message cueing capabilities of the coni3 card, buffereing incoming and
outgoing messages, thus reducing operating system delays by servicing multiple data messages per system request.
