WHAT IS IT

Digitrip OPTIM Trip Units have been designed and enginered to enhance the industry leading family of Cutler-Hammer microprocessor-based rms sensing trip units.

To the family of Digitrip RMS 310, 510, 610, 810, and 910 Trip Units, is added the new programmable Digitrip OPTIM 750 and 1050 Trip Units. . . and this means Cutler-Hammer offers the most comprehensive range of electronic trip units in the industry across a seamless family of low voltage circuit breakers.

Digitrip OPTIM is a new programmable communicating microprocessor-based low voltage electronic trip unit system for Westinghouse Series C Molded Case Circuit Breakers and low voltage power breakers.

With Digitrip OPTIM, one now has the capability of providing the electrical distribution system with superior programmable protection and coordination. . . plus a state-of-the-art advanced warning capability along with system diagnostics, monitoring, and communications.

Digitrip OPTIM will enhance your electrical distribution system by allowing one to reduce downtime, manage energy costs, and utilize equipment more efficiently.

WHATS NEW

Key Features of Programmable Trip Units
  • Virtual Infinite Settings - You can increase the setting increments by a factor of 10.
  • Better Coordination - Trip unit settings are displayed in amperes, not multiples.
  • Primary Value Trip Settings - Trip unit settings are displayed in amperes, not multiples.
  • Improved Accuracy and Reliability - Easy to Configure
  • System Security - Password Protected.
  • Field Selectable - Short and instantaneous settings can be programmed in or out. also thermal memory and discriminator features are field selectable.
  • Downloadable - All settins and protection selections can be downloadable from a P.C.
  • Software Packages - On-line coordination and configuration software is available.
  • Trip Unit Testing - Can verify trip unit is operating correctly by carrying out trip or no trip testing with Optimizer, BIM or at the P.C.
  • Thermal Memory - Prevents system overheating due to repeated overlaods.
  • Discriminator - Provides protection when closing breaker on startup if no instantaneous setting is provided.
  • Zone Selective Interlocking - Provides positive selectivity on ground fault and short time protection without time delays, reduces stress on up stream breakers.
  • I4t Curve Shaping - Better coordination with fuses.
  • System Diagnostics - Helps get breaker back on line quickly after a trip.
  • Early Warning Alarms - Prevents unnecessary breaker trip via advanced warning of high load or ground fault.
  • RMS Sensing - Prevents Nuisance trips due to non-sinusoidal waveforms.
